IUPESM World Congress on Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering
Adelaide Convention Centre
29 September to 4 October 2025
IUPESM is held every three years. The Adelaide event was jointly organised by the International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP), the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE), the International Union for Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine (IUPESM), the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) and Engineers Australia.
Held at the Adelaide Convention Centre and jointly convened by Professor Eva Bezak and Adrian Richards, the 2025 IUPESM Congress was themed "Bridging the Gap: Science, Technology, and Clinical Practice for a Sustainable World" and featured a range of leading international experts in clinical engineering, radiation shielding design and Monte Carlo modelling.
The Congress achieved strong international participation, drawing more than 592 international delegates along with a substantial exhibitor presence. This represented one of the strongest attendance for a World Congress held in the region, reflecting both the global relevance of the program and the appeal of Adelaide as a host destination.
IUPESM also used other venues including a welcome reception at Adelaide Oval.
