Asia-Pacific's International Mining Expo (AIMEX)

Held for the first time outside Sydney, Asia-Pacific's largest mining event attracted strong national and international participation, with delegates representing over 30 countries. The 15,000 sqm exhibition showcased Global industry leaders including BHP, Rio Tinto, Newmont, Sandvik, Hitachi, Makita, and Motion Australia, featuring high-impact displays and demonstrations.
Two conference stages hosted more than 80 speakers, providing insight into innovation, sustainability, and South Australia's growing strategic role in mining and resources. 15% of delegates were international, with the largest delegation from China. AIMEX also utilised additional venues, including the National Wine Centre for the pre-event welcome and Adelaide Oval for the Australian Mining Prospect Awards.
Sessions throughout the event explored the critical challenges and emerging trends shaping the industry. Highlights included Australia's strategic copper advantage and South Australia's role in transforming the global steel landscape through the Green Iron SA consortium. Attendees also heard compelling case studies, including the digital transformation driven by the partnership between Bengalla Mining Company and Hitachi, and a groundbreaking collaboration between Gold Fields and Sandvik, which has delivered exceptional gains in efficiency, safety, and productivity.
